Featured Exhibit: Xtreme BUGS
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Explore the fascinating world of bugs on an extreme scale to understand why, even though are small, bugs play a critical role in the environment, the culture, and the global economy.

Visualize Data Sets
Explore real-time datasets of Earth and planetary science on Science On a Sphere.

Hands-on Nanotechnology
11:30 a.m. –3:30 p.m.
Explore the material properties and concepts of nanotechnology. Learn about the emerging field of nanoscale science and its potential impact on the future. Activities are designed by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network for the national NanoDays festival.

Investigate Animals
1:30–4:00 p.m.
Inspired by our current featured exhibit, Xtreme BUGS, you can meet our resident arthropods, like cockroaches and tarantulas, in the Animal Discovery Room.

Invent and Engineer
12:00 noon–4:00 p.m.
How can something as flimsy as newspaper hold weights high above the ground? Come learn how to make a sturdy structure like a table, a bridge, or a building using only newspaper in the Ingenuity Lab’s engineering challenge!

Explore the Universe
12:00 noon–4:00 p.m.
Join in on free, drop-in presentations in the Hall’s Planetarium. Explore the Solar System, fly to the edge of the universe, and learn about the upcoming lunar eclipse. Your astronomy questions will push the interactive Planetarium to full throttle.

Visit Our Neighbor: Space Science Laboratory (SSL)
SSL opens its doors to the public only once a year, on Cal Day. Stop by the Lab for free tours, beautiful photographic exhibits, science talks, and fun hands-on activities and demonstrations. SSL is also part of the Passport to Science@Cal. For more information, visit SSL’s Cal Day webpage.
